AWPT Continues to Expand Remote Virtual Classroom Options

In March of 2020, A2LA WorkPlace Training (AWPT) launched Virtual Classroom, the company’s first remote delivery method for live, instructor-led classroom training. Over the course of the last several months, AWPT has hosted 16 public courses online and a handful of remote training courses for internal staff and assessors. The subject matter included ISO/IEC 17025 compliance training for industries such as calibration, food testing, and cannabis testing, as well as auditing courses, measurement uncertainty courses, and courses on other ISO standards. Virtual Classroom courses have been well-attended and have received consistently positive feedback. Although the pivot to remote learning was necessitated by travel restrictions and limits on in-person gatherings, AWPT will continue to take advantage of remote learning tools in the future, offering both hybrid learning options and additional Virtual Classroom courses.

The success of Virtual Classroom is thanks in large part to strategic decision-making by AWPT instructors and course designers, who began conducting research on the available remote learning tools and studying remote learning principles long before the COVID-19 pandemic. The structure and format of Virtual Classroom courses make them as effective as possible and allow learners to adapt to the new format easily. “My Virtual Classroom course was one of the best classes I've attended. It's clear that A2LA Workplace Training is very passionate about what they do and strive to be the best,” attendee Keith Stephen said in a follow-up email. “I really appreciate the detail and organization put into this training course."

A2LA WorkPlace Training provides training on quality systems, ISO standards, auditing, metrology, and more to clients all over the world. They have used the new Virtual Classroom tool – along with self-paced e-learning and remote consulting options like QMS Express - to make their services more flexible and more widely accessible. With various regions now at different stages of “reopening,” AWPT is able to offer options for both in-person training and expanded virtual learning options to accommodate the needs and preferences of many different learners.
