Meet the Instructor: Pam Wright

A2LA WorkPlace Training is proud to work with some of the most talented staff and instructors in the industry, offering insight and expertise from many different disciplines and backgrounds. One person who has been particularly instrumental in shaping A2LA WPT is Instructional Design Manager Pam Wright. Ms. Wright currently teaches nearly a dozen different A2LA WPT courses, including many of our most popular courses on ISO/IEC 17025, our newest biobanking course, several auditing courses, and a course on effective training strategies designed to help other instructors develop their skills.

Before accepting her role at A2LA WPT, Ms. Wright was the Quality Manager at A2LA, where she had spent the prior sixteen years of her career. Throughout her time at A2LA, Ms. Wright also gained a wealth of experience as an instructor. When A2LA Training became A2LA WorkPlace Training, her comprehensive understanding of accreditation, quality systems, and training concepts made her ideal for the role of Instructional Design Manager at A2LA WPT. In her current role, she applies her skills working with subject matter experts to develop and implement new courses and educational tracks, train new instructors, manage IACET accreditation, and of course, conduct both internal and external training. She also speaks publicly at professional meetings and conferences, most recently the A2LA Technical Forum.

Ms. Wright is a member of the Association of Talent Development (ATD), International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI), and the Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). She is also an assessor for A2LA and a peer evaluator for APAC and IAAC. In recent years she has served as Chair of the Calibration Systems Resource Committee and has been a member of the Accreditation Resources Committee and a voting member of the ASC Z540 Standards Writing Group for NCSLI. She has also been the Moderator for the A2LA Measurement Advisory Committee and the Staff Liaison for the A2LA Criteria Council and A2LA Impartiality Committee. In addition, Ms. Wright had a paper published at the 16th International Congress of Metrology, and articles published in the Cal Lab International Journal on Metrology, Metrologist NCSLI Worldwide News

Ms. Wright has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Towson University, and is currently pursuing her master's degree in instructional design with a concentration in e-learning, to reinforce her extensive personal experience with the most up-to-date instructional theories and techniques. Ms. Wright’s next public class will be “Auditing Your Laboratory to ISO/IEC 17025:2017” at A2LA WPT headquarters, and she will be teaching a number of on-site contract training courses throughout the year.
