Earlier this year, A2LA WorkPlace Training launched “MS 180: Understanding ISO 20387:2018, General Requirements for Biobanking,” a first-of-its-kind professional training course designed to comprehensively cover ISO 20387:2018 for biobanking facilities. As part of the Virtual Classroom product rollout, MS 180 is now one of the many classes available as a live remote option. In addition to removing the need for travel, Virtual Classroom will make this unique and specialized A2LA WPT class accessible to more learners across the country.

On March 31st, 2020, A2LA WorkPlace Training (A2LA WPT) hosted their first remote Virtual Classroom training course. Virtual Classroom is a new training delivery method recently launched by A2LA WPT that provides live, instructor-led training and a fully interactive classroom experience to learners anywhere in the world. With travel restrictions and social distancing protocols now in place due to COVID-19, Virtual Classroom allows A2LA WPT to offer the same high-quality training services without the need for travel. The first course hosted through Virtual Classroom was A2LA WPT’s most popular class: Understanding ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for Testing & Calibration Laboratories. Several more in-demand courses are now also available to individuals and organizations through this new delivery method.

A2LA WorkPlace Training (A2LA WPT) announced its establishment as a new company, separating itself from American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA).

A2LA and WorkPlace Training (WPT) today announced A2LA’s acquisition of WorkPlace Training. The addition of WPT’s robust e-learning modules will complement A2LA’s wide-reaching instructor-led classroom training offerings. E-learning modules offered by WPT include tutorials, practice, assessments and record keeping on topics such as measurement, calibration and ISO/IEC 17025.

Lonnie Spires, A2LA’s President/CEO, was recognized by Frederick County Office of Economic Development (OED) as one of the Top 50 CEOs in 2018.

A2LA was honored at an awards reception on Thursday, July 26th as one of Frederick County Best Places to Work.

A2LA is pleased to announce the selection of Lonnie Spires as its next Chief Executive Officer. Spires succeeds Peter Unger, who served as A2LA’s President and CEO for twenty years and continues to support the Association in his position as President Emeritus. Spires brings to the position over a decade of executive leadership experience across the testing and measurement community.

The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) has awarded A2LA the industry-respected Accredited Provider status. IACET Accredited Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The recognition period is for five years, at which time A2LA will be re-evaluated. This accreditation includes all training programs offered or created during this time. “A2LA is proud of our world-class training programs which have been designed to help organizations achieve and maintain accreditation to international standards. Our training courses are delivered by subject matter experts with many years of professional training experience so that our stakeholders stay on the cutting edge,” stated Julie Collins, A2LA Training Manager.
