Updates Regarding COVID-19
A2LA Workplace Training is immensely grateful for the attentiveness and flexibility of our customers as we calibrate our plans to resume our public, face-to-face training sessions. Based on the most up-to-date recommendations from public health officials, all in-person classes throughout the month of June will be either cancelled or moved to our live Virtual Classroom platform. This includes both the classes planned for public facilities and the classes hosted at AWPT headquarters. Please visit our online course calendar for information on dates, times, and delivery methods. We will be updating the calendar regularly as new course sessions are made available, COVID-19 status reports by state are updated, and gubernatorial travel restrictions are relaxed. If you are registered for an in-person course in June, we will contact you directly to discuss your learning options.
While returning to relative normalcy will be difficult and gradual, our highest priority is the safety of our learners and staff. As we navigate these troubling waters, we will continue to take the necessary steps to ensure the your health and well-being are maintained.
A2LA WorkPlace Training is hard at work proactively responding to all new and updated recommendations regarding COVID-19. While any activities involving travel or in-person gatherings are currently suspended, our plan is to return to in-person training and on-site consulting activities on June 1st, 2020. In the interim, we have converted many of our training offerings into remote Virtual Classroom sessions accessible from anywhere with internet connection. We have also expanded our remote consulting options and launched 3 QMS Express packages to help kickstart your programs remotely. Please visit our training calendar for more information on Virtual Classroom and to see our scheduled virtual classes. For more information about remote consulting, see our QMS Express pages.
Considering the exceptional but necessary measures now in place across the country to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, A2LA WorkPlace Training has modified our training operations to protect the wellbeing of our learners, instructors, and staff. Since we are limited to public meetings to less than 10 people, we have cancelled our public venue sessions for March and April. Until further notice, scheduled instructor-led training courses will be conducted via interactive, virtual classroom training. Courses are broken into modules that will allow you to effectively bracket your time while you work from home. For those of you who had registered for in-person training, we are now offering the same level of training in the comfort of your home office through your desktop or any streaming device.
Our instructional designers are hard at work accounting for these changes and maximizing the effectiveness of the digital tools at our disposal. AWPT remains committed to delivering the same great content and the same high quality of training our customers have come to expect. Although many organizations will be forced to suspend certain operations during this challenging time, we are fortunate to have the technological capacity to continue to safely and effectively fill your training needs. The following will apply to all training courses that we plan to offer virtually:
- Two-day courses will now be conducted virtually over the course of four days, with instruction split into two sections per day: 9am - 11am EST and 2pm – 4pm EST, allowing our learners to have focused learning time and still devote time to their daily work functions.
- Virtual learners will receive an exclusive job aid document as supplemental course material that will only be available to paid attendees.
- Course content will NOT be abbreviated. All learners will receive the same instruction and content as they would in an in-person course.
- A live Q&A session (1-2 hours) will be available to paid attendees one week after the course lectures using the same virtual platform.
An updated course schedule will be available soon – please check our calendar on the website for the most recent offerings.
If you have questions or would like to speak to AWPT staff directly for any reason, please call 301-644-3235 or send an email to training@A2LAWPT.org. We hope that by continuing to offer classes in this format, AWPT can help minimize disruption to your organization and make time spent working from home as productive as possible. If you have other training needs, AWPT also offers self-directed online e-learning modules on a variety of subjects. Many of our consultancy services, including our “QMS Express” packages, can also be utilized 100% remotely.
We hope that you remain safe and well in these unprecedented times, and that daily life returns to normal as soon as possible. In the meantime, AWPT is available to support you in any way we can.
